Urbanism is the practice of shaping how cities–the places where most people reside and what literally most unites us–function and evolve. It’s what weaves the fabric of life in a metropolis. It is what determines how (and whether) neighbors meet for coffee in a small burg. The way we build cities structures how we live and our relationship with the natural environment in almost every way.
